What is God's true organization he is using? if this not it, then point me

i have been a jw all my life, my sister and i are now in our late twenties and are so unhappy and after desparate attempts to keep up meeting attendance are not spiritually motivated.

we in last few weeks have found some very disturbing things in our search such as the un involvement.

after research on these things and use of the wt library the society speaks for it's self on these issues calling the un the "disgusting thing" that the book of daniel spoke about(wt 85' para.

Welcome amommy and so sorry you are going through such a dificult time. Most everyone thus far has offered wonderful advice and I have very little to add. I searched the Scriptures after leaving, researched the original languages, studied them on my own, learned about the culture of the time the Bible was written. After years of this I found Bible truths that totally differs from what I was taught as a JW . The biggee for me was the person of Christ. I found the bible represents Jesus as being devine, Deity. The Organization doesn't want their followers having personal relationships with Jesus, they want every JW to have personal relationships with THEM.

What gives my life purpose now as a believer is actively helping others one on one, and by taking part and organizing charities. There is so much suffering in the world that to live a life handing out magazines and slaving for a book publishing company was never going to fulfill my desire to help make the world a better place. We got this scripture drilled into our heads as a JW ; faith without works is dead. But James goes on to say that works without charity are dead works. What are works? Handing out magazines? Are we saved by our works? Not according to the Bible. They merely give our lives purpose. Works; doing good for those in need. Having unconditional love. Love is the fulfillment of everything.

PS. key words to study if you'r into it; worship, theos, logos, first-born those are a great place to start. Where do they appear, did the New World Translation change the english word in different passages and why. Alpha and Omego is a fun one also.

many of you may not see immediately how important this matter is.

beyond the other legal ramifications, i.e, the wts lying about secular info., intentional deception, etc., the blood issue is a huge one.

My mother; nearly died when her blood count dipped to below 6. It took her several years to recover causing great suffering to her and myself as she could no longer support herself or me. I was a child.

I myself was willing to die and have the medical proof in records in my possesion. Thankfully my three children did not lose thier mother.

My friend; lost her three month old baby that died needing a blood transfusion. The elders were there to support her to let her baby die and fight legal intervention. After the baby died the elders were nowhere to be found to offer comfort. She started smoking from the grief and was swiftly disfellowshipped.

My friend an elders wife who made the cover of "Awake", waited to have children until after Armageddon hit in 1975. She waited past her prime child bearing years and was martyed for nearly losing her life giving birth due to blood loss.

These are merely the ones closest to me.

Close friend related this sad story; at a ex JW conference the speaker was going over the misrepresented biblical stand on blood issue when from the audience a deep groan started, followed by unconsolable sobbing. It was a man's breakdown realizing that he denied his wife (who was not even a baptised JW) life saving blood and she died.

I don't know what your experience has been Mr esq..but deaths due to the denial of lifesaving blood has been a part of my life as a JW from childhood. We were lied to about what biblical doctrine really said, and we were lied to as to the dangers of blood. Respectfully~Kate bas.

Alot of Questions regarding Jehovah God.

hey, i'm new here and have alot of questions i would appreciate being answered.. .

1. does god have anything against jw's playing guitar?.

2. i f i have a family member of friend that i care dearly for but they don't believe in jehovah god then surely i won't see them again after armageddon day.

My papa has read the Bible many times and no doubt knows much more about Jehova God than me and is also in charge of a Kingdom Hall for JW's nearby my house. Answer your question?

Your papa sounds like a godly man that followed his heart to be doing what he is doing. As we mature we all develop different gifts and abilities and you will find that you have gifts completly different than your father. The way your father worships God, may end up a different way from you. You may even find that you can worship Jehovah God through your music! Do no harm to no one and Follow your heart. I'm sure your papa is very proud of you. I hope that never ever changes as you grow.

As you can see most of us here no longer follow the Watchtower's interpretations of what the Bible has to say. Some do not follow the Bible at all or believe it is inspired from God, and that is ok too. We all have the personal responsibility to decide for ourselves. Love~Kate "To Thine Own Self Be True"

as a child i remember sitting behind a sister with a pink angora sweater.

i would pull of a bit of the lint from it and tilt my head back and place it above my lips a bit.

I almost forgot, splitting my split ends of my hair.

I did that too! OMG this thread brings back memories. As a small child of 8 I would listen intently and take every word spoken to heart. (the beggining of Armygeddon fear), soon I started doodling the o's etc, flowers on the borders and drawing, mostly horses and dreaming of having one to call my own. I still have my green bible with the doodles. I colored the clothes on the little guys in the inside covers in red. Met a bad girl and we snickered and passed silly notes. As an adult I spent the short time I tried to "go back to the meetings" outside ruining my Walmart shoes chasing my ADHD son through the rocks. Thank God my son was too hyperactive to sit.

My last meeting I went without my son, I made the mistake of reading an entire chapter instead of just the one scripture the speaker cited. Then I talked to my study conductor the elders wife and that was the end of it all. She told me I had to believe what the Org said it said even though it obviously said something totally different. I said lets just skip and agree to disagree. She said no it didn't work that way and if I did not renounce what I found out there was no need to go on. I stayed true to myself.

my understanding of the "big snooze" is that the essay maintains that jws have misrepresented quotes from secular sources.

is this message board not an obvious misrepresentation?

it claims to represent jehovahs witnesses (in its title)yet the vast majority of posters are anti jw and many have been expelled.

Quango I have an email address; [email protected] for the purpose of distributing Watchtower information, books, support, whatever. I get accused of the same thing as you have accused this website.

Think outside the box as they say. If I wanted to converse, communicate and have discussions about the Whitehouse, I could have a WhiteHouse-Discussion.com website, if I wanted to discuss Catholics, I could have a Catholic-Discussion.com right? What IS the difference? The difference is JWs have been taught that the only ones allowed to discuss the Watchtower are elders, ministerial servants, and the rank and file active JW. They can discuss what has been released in the Watchtower, Awakes, and books. What is the difference?

The Bible doesn't say anything about not freely discussing subjects.

GRACE (undeserved kindness)

this has been bothering me for some time now and i'm hoping that some here will shed some light on the subject.. paul goes to great lengths to tell us that we can't earn god's grace (undeserved kindness).. the wts also says that.. but, the bible does give us some do's and don'ts.

the bible does tell us about individuals who would be bad association.

it also tells us about some sins that would cause the sinner to be ineligible for the new kingdom.. so do we in fact have to earn the undeserved kindness?

According to the Bible;

Jesus died for sinners not righteous people

Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

Everything that is bad in us that would require punishment has been paid for. Jesus did the time for our crime. That is grace. It is a free gift. All one would need to do is recieve the free gift. It can not be earned, there are no strings attached.

After we have done that, Jehovah continues to do the work IN us via the Holy Spirit. . Every attempt we make to do good, and be good, makes us start to feel righteous. We all know what happens. We become like the self righteous family member who is too good to associate with sinners anymore. Jesus ate with sinners, loved them, hung out with them, saved them, fed them. He just did not ACT like them. Love~Kate

God loves us JUST THE WAY WE ARE. He loves us unconditionaly. God created us all different and that means we must be true to ourselves to ever reach our full potential as God's individual children. You will know when something is wrong. Read your Bible, preferably not the New World Translation when you want to know right from wrong from God's viewpoint. The Ten Commandments are a great start, and the words of Jesus sum it all up. LOVE. Be yourself in love.

GET REAL PEOPLE !!

i am extremely disappointed to read some people's comments about the latest news.

it is one thing to express and opinion, perhaps that you think it isn't as big as you imagined (one wonders what you imagined) but it is another to be downright insulting to people who have put a lot of time and effort into this.. get real.

The news is awesome! I am looking forward to learning more as things start to happen. I for one have medical document proof that I was willing to die during a surgery as a JW. My mom almost did die and if there is no statute of limitations we will join any suits applicable.

For those that don't understand, the Watchtower is all about MONEY. As these cases progress they are going to lose all that MONEY. I personally know many former JWs who have lost loved ones, this morning I sent the news to a friend who let her baby die for lack of blood thinking it was the right thing to do as a JW.

When all the money is gone, and all the lies exposed, many more will leave. There may be millions right now just hanging on, having many doubts, that will leave when this is circulated and the media gets on board.

The thing is that many of us have dedicated out lives to this and we need to show apreciation for what they are all doing on all our behalfs. I work with a group that provides support for the disfellowshipped and those that left on another ISP. We have faced so much opposition from active Jehovah's Witnesses, had our computers hacked, some faced personal threats, even opposition from our own ISP. (Internet Service Provider) The LAST thing we need is negativity and opposition from our kindred associates.

Lets all work together to save our friends and families left behind in the WTBTS.

has anyone else wondered why the witnesses hold a meeting in order to 'keep doing this in rememberance of me' ?

since i was old enough to think and reason (yes i know how terrible!

) i could never understand why our 'celebration', the one thing important to true christians in the year, was another meeting!

Every time I ask a JW to explain this one to me it throws them into a state of cognitive dissonence. So this means that only the 144,000 are allowed to have life in them.
